This week, we received confirmation that Gosford Private Hospital (owned by Healthe Care) have made the decision to cease their Maternity Services as of Monday 31 March 2025. I understand this is heartbreaking news for many, especially for our pregnant mums, families who have previously given birth here, and those who had hoped to one day deliver at Gosford Private. As the only private maternity facility on the Central Coast, this decision impacts the entire community, and the team at Coastal Women’s Health share in your disappointment.
We recognise the deep emotional connection many of you have with Gosford Private Maternity Unit, and we understand the uncertainty this brings at such a vulnerable time. For those who are expecting or planning a future pregnancy, please know that we are committed to providing continuity of care.
After the closure, the plan is for all obstetric services to transition to Gosford Hospital, which operates within the NSW Health system, and we will work closely with you to ensure a smooth transition if your delivery falls after March 2025.
In the meantime, please rest assured that our clinic’s care remains unchanged. We will continue to support you through every step of your pregnancy, offering the same high level of compassionate care that we always have. I know this is a significant adjustment, but our team is here to help you navigate this change with understanding and care.
Additionally, for those who rely on my gynaecological and surgical services, I want to reassure you that these services will continue as normal at Gosford Private. All gynaecological services, including consultations and advanced procedures, will remain available without disruption.
If you have any questions or concerns about how this affects your care, please don’t hesitate to call us on (02) 4324 1992. Our priority is ensuring you feel supported and informed throughout this transition, and we are here to offer guidance, care, and compassion every step of the way.
Warm regards,
Dr. Raouf Farag
